Mr. Lagrou earned an undergraduate degree in socioeconomics from James Madison College at Michigan State University, where he was a Forrest Akers Scholar. Mr. Lagrou received his law degree from the University of Detroit School of Law.

In addition to trial work, Mr. Lagrou briefed and argued the Michigan Court of Appeals decision in Millikin v Walton Manor Mobile Home Park, which expanded the open and obvious defense in premises liability cases.
